Project Description

This project focuses on studying and further developing a drilling rig from Morath in order to accurately approach boreholes and precisely position the drilling tower. One key objective is to determine the exact position and orientation of the machine. For this purpose, a GNSS system combined with a base station is planned to be used. Based on this data, the kinematics of the drilling tower will be calculated in order to adjust the target positions with high accuracy. A major challenge lies in reliably determining the current state of the tower using inclination sensors and encoders, as well as in precisely controlling the hydraulic cylinders. This will make it possible to achieve the target angles defined by the kinematic model. The project aims to establish a foundation for greater automation and precision in special foundation engineering.
