Jannis Egelhof studied computer science at the Rhineland-Palatinate University of Technology Kaiserslautern-Landau. In 2021, he visited the Luleå University of Technology as part of a semester abroad. During his studies, he gained his first experience in the field of SLAM and the analysis of disturbances in point clouds due to snow, rain or dust. In October 2023 he completed his master thesis "Offroad-Trajectory Generation".

Since December 2023, he has been working as a research assistant in the Robot Systems working group. In this context, he continues to deal with wayfinding problems in the off-road area.
